2017 Fall/Halloween Favorites

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… FALL! (See what I did there XD) I’ve never done a post like this before, but I’m excited to try! Here are my favorite clothes, foods, drinks, and activities for fall and Halloween!

Pumpkin Spice Latte (Frappucino)- You can never go through fall without trying Starbucks’s PSL, or in my case, Pumpkin Spice Latte Frappucino! I don’t drink brewed coffee, so this is a great drink for a Netflix and chill Day!

Pumpkin Apple Strussel Muffins- These muffins (that you can find at Costco) are absolutely scrumptious and are a perfect way to start your morning!

G.H. Cretors’s popcorn- my favorite popcorn of all time! I’ve only ever tried The Mix, (Cheese and Caramel popcorn) but is so delicious!

(Spiced) Apple Cider- Yum! Apple cider is already perfect alone, but it tastes even better with a bit of pumpkin spice!

Cinnamon Apple Donuts- Basically my favorite fall food! These tasty donuts can be found at an apple orchard, where you can also get apple cider!

Mystery Flavored Oreos- If you haven’t heard about it, there’s a new Oreo, mystery! It’s so cool and if you can guess the flavor you can win a lot of money!

S’mores- There’s no leaving out one of America’s favorites! Baseball and football are great, but S’mores are a necessity!

Hot Chocolate- No, hot chocolate isn’t just for the winter. For those of you who just can’t wait for hot chocolate season to start, you can have it now! Pair it with some pumpkin, marshmallows, or have it alone!

Tan Ankle Boots- These modern heels are a great accent to your everyday outfit! They look great with jeans and a nice sweater, too!

Cardigans- For me, cardigans are a must-have for any great fall outfit!

Utility Jackets- Utility jackets give off the perfect amount of style and modernity! This looks great with basically anything!

Bohemian Dresses/sweaters- Wear them alone or together, they give off a chic and trendy look!

Tall Fur Boots- I’m not an UGG person, but I think they look totally hip! A long time ago, I found my soulmate…. a pair of tall, tan boots with fur inside! They had cute “fur-balls” and nice laces! Unfortunately, I grew out of them, I’m still on the lookout!

Light Knit Sweaters- These are also similar to the cardigans and sweaters, but they’re lighter and easy to pair with outfits! Personally, I don’t like sweaters or shirts with animals or drawing on them, but if you find an adorable sweater that’s calling your name, you have to buy it! (;

Halloween Costumes- If you read my blog, especially around this time, then you’d know I LOVE HALLOWEEN! Everything about Halloween is amazing: parties, costumes, food, drinks, movies, haunted houses, and even trick-or-treating! Which brings me up to my next fall fave…

Halloween movies- Of course, you have to watch Halloween movies, or even just fall movies! If you need a list of movies, I’ll be posting it soon!

Pumpkin Patches- Who doesn’t love picking oddly shaped pumpkins and buying cute Halloween décor?

Campfires- S’mores + friends + family + scary stories = perfection!

Oktoberfest- If you didn’t know, Oktoberfest is a German celebration with lots of fun! Get German Torte, alcohol, fries and lots of sauerkraut!

What’s your favorite Halloween/Fall activity?

Little India-Singapore

Welcome to the second edition of my Singapore collection! I’m going to be talking about some of my favorite places in Little India! Let’s get started!

So in Singapore, there are loads of good food everywhere! One of my favorite ice cream stores there was called Swensen’s! I believe I went to the one in City Square Mall, which is really convenient because it’s near a train station! My mom, brother and I shared two ice creams. The Rock, which was 3 kinds of ice cream served over dry ice it was really delicious. The Rock was actually inspired by Alcatraz Island in San Francisco! We also had a Chocolate Crunch, which was a really chocolatey ice cream served with a chocolate-dipped cherry and hot fudge! The cool thing about Swensen’s is that some of the ice creams are inspired by landmarks and historical events!

Masjid Sultan

For those of you who don’t know, Masjid Sultan is one of the most important mosques in Singapore! It’s really beautiful, but, unfortunately, I did not get a picture of it. When I went there, it was Ramadan. There was a tent set up, because they were allowed to eat, and I think the name was “Ramadan Sultan.” We got pisang goreng, which are fried bananas, and they are so delicious!

There are a lot of stores all around the mosque, including cute boutiques and bakeries! We didn’t really go to any of the restaurants, but they looked pretty good!

Even though I didn’t really talk about Little India, if anything comes to mind, I will definitely blog about it! Make sure to comment if you’ve been to Little India in Singapore and what you did there!

DWTS Live! Hot Summer Nights

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Hey guys! I just went to the Dancing with the Stars: Live! Hot Summer Nights show, and it was amazing! The choreography, technique, and energy was off the charts, and I will totally go to their next show!

Even though I’m not a very big fan of Dancing with the Stars, I am now! The show had dancers: Rashad Jennings, Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, Lindsay Arnold, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvinstev, Hayley Erbert, Gleb Savchenko, Keo Motsepe, Alan Bersten, and Britt Stewart!

Some of my favorite dances were Despacito, the Bailar Group Number, Hayley Erbert and Keo Motsepe’s cha cha, Welcome to the Movies, Somewhere Over the Rainbow (duet by Lindsay Arnold and Artem Chigvinstev,) Sing Sing, and Emma Slater and Sasha Farber’s duet!

If you are thinking whether or not to go, you should! At first, I wasn’t a very big fan of DWTS, but this  show changed my mind! The seats start at $45 per person and it’s a very good deal because you can really see how talented the dancers are.

I think shows like these are especially good for dancers, because it’s refreshing to see something new and dancers like Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, Lindsay Arnold and Sharna Burgess are great idols, even though all of them are amazing!

Make sure to comment if you’ve been to any of their shows and how you think it went!

Beat the Heat- Singpore

Hey guys! So, as promised, here is the beginning of my collection of posts about my trip to Singapore!

When we first arrived in May, and it was VERY HOT! It was already nighttime, so we went to the place we stayed at and got settled in. Since there are so many people in Singapore, and so little space there, everything is stacked, cramped and tall! Besides that, I don’t really mind because I love the city!

My family and I got over the jet lag pretty well, so to keep us awake, we went to China Town! It was even more humid there, but we did some outdoor shopping. There’s a lot of fabric stores and clothing stores with great deals!

We also got this DELICIOUS bubble tea, which is one of my favorites! If you are new to buying bubble tea, it is best not to get strawberry or mango no matter how much you love it! Personally, I just find that it gets too tarte or too pungent. Later we went to Crystal Jade Kitchen for delicious dim sum! We also got ice cream from the Haägen-dazs shop because I’ve actually never see one of those stores in the US! The green tea ice cream is really creamy and the rocky road is very nice!

The next day we went to one of my favorite shopping malls in Singapore, VivoCity! They have all kinds of stores like Zara, G-Shock, Singtel (phones),  Typo (one of my favorites), Uniqlo, The Face Shop (which is really popular), Sasa, Seiko, and Hush Puppies!

In the lower floor, they have all kinds of delicious foods! If you’ve heard of a bubble waffle or egglet waffle, they actually have a store for that! Hong Kong Egglet sells fresh bubble waffles that are pretty good! I really like the pandan (a flavor) egglet, but make sure not to get the spicy shrimp egglet. There is a bubble tea store named Koi Thé, honestly I didn’t like the tea very much but it is very popular around Singapore. You can also eat from Kopitiam, Starbucks, Old Chang Kee (my favorite, I especially love the curry puffs and the sotong balls with sweet chili.) Also, if you see any salted egg fish skins or potato chips, definitely buy them! VivoCity is also really cool because there is a lovely view of Singapore and the ocean behind the mall!

Fruit juices are also very tasty in Singapore, especially since all the fruit is fresh! There are stores all around Singapore,  and my absolute favorite juice is papaya with milk or a papaya milkshake! Dragon fruit fruit juice looks really cool, but doesn’t taste like anything. Since it gets really hot, watermelon juice is also a cheap and delicious way to cool down!

If you are visiting Singapore, keep in mind that there is amazing food and opportunities all around, so try everything you can and have fun!

Hazel’s Unique Life Hacks

Hello! I’m so sorry I haven’t blogged in quite a while, our final testing is coming up soon, and then it’s two weeks until summer vacation! We are actually leaving the very next day after the last day of school for vacation. I’m so stoked! We will be going to Singapore for about a month, Japan for a few days, and then back to the U.S.! After that, we will be going to Canada again for a special family event! With all that traveling, especially half way around the world, I won’t have a lot of time or wi-fi. This may be my last post for a few months, but I’ll try to write and post them once I get internet and a computer! Anyways, I’ve seen A LOT of YouTube videos on life hacks, and I thought I’d try showing you my own random life lessons through blogging! Continue reading
